Our Pre-Kindergarten program is designed to develop the skills needed for kindergarten readiness. We recognize that play during the early childhood years has a significant role in the cognitive, social, and physical development of a child. During play children acquire many of the prerequisite skills that contribute to successful learning. Therefore, our play based program focuses on weekly themes while incorporating mathematics, language skills, reading readiness, motor skills and social skills.
Students in our pre-Kindergarten are not required to follow the school dress code, so uniforms are not required. However, the class does take full advantage of all of our school facilities including computer lab, library, media center, church and enclosed playground.
The morning session begins with prayer, a bible story and a craft. The rest of the morning focuses on lessons introduced through circle time, learning centers and play centers. Student then enjoy lunch, recess and an hour of quite rest time.
The afternoon session provides reinforcement of morning academic session, social interaction and further gross motor activity. Our day closes with prayer.
